Emotional awareness is the ability to recognise, feel and understand our own emotions.
Many people learn to ignore difficult emotions. We push through fear, grief, anger, resentment or sadness and continue with our lives.
But within the Liminalis Method™, emotions are an important part of the healing process because our emotional and physical experiences are deeply connected.
Every Illness Has an Emotional Experience
Every illness has an emotional component because becoming unwell affects much more than the physical body.
Illness can bring fear, uncertainty, anger, grief, helplessness or loss of control. It can change relationships, identity, work and the way a person sees their future.
There may also be emotional patterns that existed long before the illness appeared.
Within the Liminalis Method™, practitioners help clients explore these emotions and the energetic patterns associated with them.
We ask:
What am I afraid of?
What emotions am I carrying?
What past fears am I still holding?
What does this experience ask me to change?
Becoming aware of these emotions is an important part of healing.
Emotions Are Energy
Within the Liminalis Method™, emotions are understood as energy.
Fear has energy.
Anger has energy.
Grief has energy.
Resentment has energy.
Love and compassion also have energy.
When old emotional patterns remain unresolved, their energetic patterns may become part of what we call Frozen States — old programming that continues to influence the person long after the original experience has passed.
This is why emotional awareness is also a form of energetic awareness.
When clients begin to recognise what they are feeling, they can also become more aware of how these emotions are experienced within their body and Subtle Body Energy.
Healing and Curing Are Not the Same
Within the Liminalis Method™, we make an important distinction between healing and curing.
A cure focuses on treating or eliminating a physical disease or its symptoms. Medical treatment comes from outside the person and may involve medication, surgery or another medical procedure provided by healthcare professionals.
Healing, as we understand it within the Liminalis Method™, is an internal process that comes from within. Nobody else can do this inner work for you.
Healing involves becoming aware of and working with the fears, emotions and energetic patterns associated with the experience of illness. In this sense, healing remains possible because emotional and energetic transformation can still occur even when a physical condition remains.
Medical treatment does not necessarily address all the emotional experiences and energetic patterns a person associates with their illness. Therefore, even after medication, surgery or another medical procedure, there may still be emotional fears and patterns that the person wishes to explore and transform.
For this reason, healing — including working with emotions and energy — remains meaningful whether or not a physical cure occurs.
A person can receive surgery, medication or other medical treatment and still explore the emotional and energetic dimensions of their experience.
The two do not need to compete with each other.
Emotions are energy; therefore, emotional awareness also means energetic awareness.
Emotional Awareness Creates Transformation
Within the Liminalis Method™, healing is always about more than symptoms.
It is about transformation.
A client learns to recognise their emotions, understand the energetic patterns associated with them and participate in transforming old Frozen States.
This is why emotional awareness matters.
Emotions are energy. Becoming aware of our emotions means becoming aware of our energy.
And when we can recognise what we are carrying, we have an opportunity to transform it — moving from old Frozen States towards a healthier state of Flow.
